2005-06-12 05:43:00 | Yeah my computor wont turn on. Could it be my motherboard? Because First my Cd-R and DVD drives wouldnt work anymore in MY computor but they would in my Dads. And then the soundcard that is part of the motherboard started glitching out,and my keyboard was glitching out in MY computor. So do you guys think its my motherboard or could it be something else?

2005-06-12 06:12:00 | It could be a dodgy power supply | Overdrive_5000 (4950) | |

2005-06-12 23:15:00 | Well ive already replaced my power supply because i was told it might be that, but it still didnt work. Ok ill try that then. Umm i have one question though, if i do have to get a new motherboard will i have to completely reinstall windows and the rest of my programs?

Not necessarily, If it's Win98 boot to safe mode and delete all devices then let 98 install the motherboard and redetect all devices again If it's XP post back and I'll tell you how to install an new motherboard using your existing XP installation. Having said that, it would be nicer & cleaner with a fresh install. |

2005-06-13 09:08:00 | It could be hardware other than the board though it does sound like the board with the problems it was having But it could be Ram or a dead CPU, or even a dodgy switch Might pay to get a techie to look at it before you rush out and replace the board Might cost $30 odd $$ but will save you more in the long run with a proper diagnosis
