364104 2005-06-15 04:24:00 Hi everyone, I'm looking at buying a dvd writer for about $100 and up to $120 I've been looking around pricespy but still not to sure what to get am looking for decent writing speeds with good suppiort for different formats, not OEM as I need something with decent bundled software.

would like some advice on what to buy. Thanks in advance

364105 2005-06-15 04:33:00 OEM generally comes bundled with the same software as a retail package, As long as you get Nero you will be sorted, If the product description doesn't specify the software then contact your preferred vendor and query what will be supplied. Metla (12)
364106 2005-06-15 10:15:00 Hey there

Get an LG. They are one of the best while being one of the best priced. Not too sure what is available on the market, but I have a LG 4163B, which i got 6months back now, so it shud be a fair whack cheaper than the 140 I paid for it.

364107 2005-06-15 11:22:00 I would recommend the NEC ND3520A. Admittedly I am not using it with MS Windows but I am very happy with it in Linux.

I too have this model and am VERY pleased with it.... Likes all the blank media I have tried and hasn't made any coasters yet...

Mine came packaged with Nero and PowerDVD.

I sourced mine from www.Pricespy.co.nz

Thanks for your help, I've looked at quite a few sites and I like the look of

I'm just waiting for them to answer my query of what software is included

364113 2005-06-16 00:05:00 The choice is yours on the brand.

A few people have already recommended Liteon, other good brands are Pioneer and NEC.

This (www.xpcomputers.co.nz) would be money better spent, also comes with Nero.
