363682 2005-06-13 23:12:00 Hey Guys,

I'm having a major computer problem. Every once in a while, my computer goes through a freeze storm, in which my computer just freezes for about 5-10 seconds, and then recovers and goes on. This freeze occurs whenever I run a major program such as winamp and various games. If you guys have played an online game, it feels like massive lag. During this freeze storm, my system process shoots up to around 50%, and all my other programs less than 10%, the it also says that my computer is being used 100% full to the max. I dont understand what is going on. I have Windows XP home edition without service pack 2, ( i had service pack 2, but i thought it was causing the problem so i got rid of it, but it still freezes up). Any help is much appriciated!

363683 2005-06-13 23:44:00 Get hijackthis from here

www.spywareinfo.com

Create a folder called HJT. And unzip the file from this site into it. Then run it and do a scan and copy & paste a log of what appears here.

What CPU is in the system?? AMD / P4 / Prescott P4 CPU? Other?

363686 2005-06-14 02:07:00 must I repeat myself..........goto task manager/processes and note the CPU collumn..........then open up one f your 'freeze' apps............and look in the processes list to see what it is that 's using up the cpu time............ drcspy (146)

363688 2005-06-14 02:44:00 Tick these and click on fix . Then reboot .

If they dont disappear, after another Hijackthis scan,
do the same in safe mode .

Post an updated log back after these have (hopefully been removed) .

C:\WINDOWS\System32\spool\DRIVERS\W32X86\3\CMPDPSR V . EXE

Delete this file in safe mode, after u reboot .

After u have done the above, I would also reinstall SP2 . And keep XP up to date . Or else you'll have/get more probs .
