| 363979 | 2005-06-14 22:34:00 | I am running XP SP2 Whenever I try to open the control panel, I get a "not responding" message and i have to try several times to get it to open, the same can often happen with my computer. I have done a reload of XP but this did not fix the problem the. Also the add & remove programs has disappeared from the classic view. Any thoughts? |

| 363981 | 2005-06-15 05:52:00 | Thanks for the suggestion, I ran it as suggested. It checked the system but has not fixed the problem. I clicked on control panel from my Computer and again got the message "not responding". Then i ran it from start and it opened but when I tried to access it, I again got not responding. The classic view still does not show add and remove programs. If I log in in another users name, the add and remove programs does show up in the classic view, however I still got the not responding message the first time. Any more thoughts |
