On the Telecom site there is a test to check your number, which says yes ADSL is available but further tests are required yadda yadda which you will have to pay for. I seem to remember that there is some test that anyone can do using your dialup connection. Am I right? and if so how to do it? Ian |

| 364555 | 2005-06-17 05:50:00 | No test that I am aware of. ADSL has little relevance to dial-up attributes, its a matter of distance from exchange and cable losses at frequencies of about 1 MHz. |

| 364558 | 2005-06-17 06:49:00 | On the jetstream website, where you put in your phone number to check for availability, after you get the message saying further tests are required there should be an option to request further tests. You then put in your details and they email you back with the results. Doesn't cost and it usually only takes them a couple of hours to reply. I have done this about 1/2 dozen times now. |
