364601 2005-06-18 07:54:00 Hey Poppa John

I use a 10 gig Telecom plan.

Last month we did 11.2 gig before they cut our speed back.

I asked Telecom if they had a definitive policy and they told me no they don't.

I guess it is just luck of the draw as to when you get cut back, if you do.

Going from 2mb to 56 kbps was horrible.

If your new period billing begins at the weekend, they appear to "turn you back on" early.

I trust this helps.

Hi Thomas
Thank you for your e-mail .

With the usage capped speed plans, these are manually entered, as our automated system for this is not currently being used . This will change shortly as the automated system is ready to go on line .
Once this is active, then the speed reduction to 64k will be very quickly added once the MB allowance is reached . As this is currently being handled manually, it can be well after the usage cap is exceeded in some cases, while others are picked up when they are just over the capped limit .

For those who "get away" with the additional speed is a bonus at this stage .

I hope this explains the situation .

Kind Regards

Your Request 18/06/2005 07:00 PM
Please advise the answer to this question:

Given that one is using your 10 gig plan - cut back to 56 kbps after that limit is exceeded - please tell me what Telecom policy is on this and at what point do you cut back your customers to 56 kbps?

For some of us that is 1 gig over the limit, for others it appears to be 20 gig over the limit .

Your assistance with the requested advice would be appreciated .

Thomas Cranney

364603 2005-06-20 08:23:00 Thankyou for all your comments. We are now on a new billing month. Everything seems ok. Even had Wanganui visitors, one of whom took a dustpan & brush to our computers. Maryann got to kiss a handsome little boy who is nearly walking. I told her not to get "Broody" the answer is NO. Thanks all . PJ Poppa John (284)
