| 365032 | 2005-06-18 18:59:00 | hello, my parents bought me a new pc for christmas but bought the monitor seperate as it was on some special offer malarky, which meant that the original speakers were dropped as the seperate monitor has speackers built in to them. and being the moron that i am i can't get the sound to work, no extra wires were given or anythin like that, anyone wanna make me look stupid and tell me somethin really simple to get the sound out of the buggers? | modest_mouse (8376) | ||

| 365034 | 2005-06-18 22:42:00 | Have you got any cables that go from your sound card to you monitor? If not then you will need a 3.5mm stereo plug (these are readily available from DSE) If your monitor has 1 input this cable (www.dse.co.nz) If your monitor has 2 inputs (which is seldom) then get this cable (www.dse.co.nz) plus 2 of the ones i suggested for the single input monitor. If you do have cables and there is no speaker icon in your taskbar then try re-installing your soundcard drivers, also if you have integrated sound make sure that it has been enabled in the system BIOS.
