365787 2005-06-21 09:33:00 You might try Darren Holyoake (not sure if correct Spelling) XYZ pcs BUT he charges $40 an hour.

Or just a pc shop

[EDIT] why anyway from your profile you live in West Auckland

Yeah, but how many of your exteneded family have asked you for help with their PCs. Demand outstrips supply, that's all there is.

365792 2005-06-23 02:53:00 Well the drive was stuffed. It read 33.8Gb in 3 different PC Bios's. 4 including the suppliers, haha. Replaced it.
Its only the 2nd Seagate I have ever had been faulty, and funnily both of them belonged to the same person.
:p

Hmm.. same PC? or same location? I had a MBD that would kill any HDD over a period of time, and knew a guy that insisted on sticking notes on the side of his PC case with a magnet.

Might be worthwhile checking the environment, if it seems to be happening to the same guy a lot.

Hehe, different MBs. Nah hes my brother - he knows better than to do things like that! But it was an interesting co-incidence. But the first got errors, bad blocks and is now making hideous noises. The second was the size thing, so probably was a fault at manufacturing.
He's probably getting quite paranoid about it now. :badpc:
