| 365713 | 2005-06-21 04:17:00 | Am looking out for a new pc and have checked on their websites the locally produced systems from retailers like PB Technologies, QMB, The Green PC Co, Plain English Computers etc and would like to know of any positive or negative experiences with any of these companies. Which ones are recommended and do they use good quality parts? Or do I go to Dell? | Krad (7878) | ||

| 365715 | 2005-06-21 04:49:00 | I have had no problem at all with The Green PC Co. I have being dealing with them for at least 8 years from when they started as a fledging company. It is interesting to see how many other computer business have come and gone over that time, yet these guys have gone from strength to strength. In fact I am on my 3rd upgraded swap-a-box PC with them. The current PC is 3 years old and doing everything I need it to do. I have found them to be very helpful and their products have caused no problems at all and are competively priced. I happily recommend them. | Cptn Hotshot (3904) | ||

Web site is up-to-the-minute cause they use it for there own pricing, invoicing etc. Found communication with them (which is a big issue for me) receives very quick response. I don't like courier services if you can avoid them though - but that's not relevant in recommending QMB - same goes for any on-line ordering. |

Which ones are recommended and do they use good quality parts? Or do I go to Dell? There are 309 listed in the yellow pages. And probably a few who aren't. It isn't a choice of 4 or Dell. Green PC specialises in cheap home office PCs. Intel only. Thats all I can say about him. QMB is another one that is usually fine when you buy but can be a problem when you need to return something. Plain English is a work from home guy but is one of Seniornets commonly used people. Computer Lounge in Mt Eden is for top end, specialising in quality but you'd probably find it expensive as they are TOP end. |
