365690 2005-06-21 02:45:00 I have a friend that has this bug on their P . C and it seems AVG doesn't recognise it or delete it .
As it seems to be left to me to solve this problem, I wondered of anyone had some tips on how to go about removing this nasty .

They seem to have an email worm too as everytime they use Outlook express , there is outgoing mail they don't recognise and lots of it .

Any help would be appricated

Cheers Pete

365691 2005-06-21 02:49:00 if their avg dont 'recognise or delete it' how do you know that is what they have .......a bit more info might help.........where EXACTLY in the system is whatever telling you this 'bug' is ?.. drcspy (146)
365692 2005-06-21 02:56:00 Tell them to get this www.simplysup.com

dl.filekicker.com

Install it and scan.

Or get hijackthis scan and post a log here.

365693 2005-06-21 03:13:00 Good point DRC. I guess it is AGV indicating it is there, but when she runs a full scan it doesn't find anything petermac (913)
365694 2005-06-21 03:21:00 hm.............well you better confirm that with her please also tell her to run the scan in safe mode drcspy (146)
365695 2005-06-21 05:03:00 AGV says it has found the trojan startpage 19e... Its says the location is

C:\documents and settings/owner\ local .... \temp\ se.dlll.. It seems to have vaulted the file lots of times....

Will tell her to try scan in safe mode

365696 2005-06-21 05:14:00 make sure AVG is fully upto date (i'm suprised at how many are still running avg 6), then set the full scan to scall ALL files. you can also run it in safe mode as suggested.

the easiest way here is to simply delete the temp folder its in.

also check what is going through your firewall and give an adware removal tool a run through as well.
