365686	2005-06-21 00:43:00	Hi there people I am running Win XP I was trying to delete a file when an error message said that I the file was corrupt. I needed to do a chkdsk. I went to run it through programs and then accessories to do scan disk. I then restart my PC to do the scan disk. After it restarted it wouyld not load all the way. It got past the Post but came stuck at verifying DMI pool I press on enter and I Noise comes from the pc kind of like whinging/whistling but the pc is still stuck at verifying DMI pool I couldnt press f8 to start windows in safe mode I could press f10 I used my Win XP CD to run recovery I tried to get to c drive and check some things there I tried chkdsk from here but was getting error messages I used fixboot and fixmbr I then did chkdsk again and it went through ok I restarted and could logon to the PC but alot of things are not working correctly eg when trying to use system restore I get an error message system restore cannot protect your pc restart and try system restore again. for events the properties of the event or alert will not display I cannot use computer management to check storage devices does any one know if this is a virus and what virus it is. I have run my anti virus program but it doesnt detect a virus Please help	muleac (8393)
365687	2005-06-21 01:30:00	Get hijackthis from here www.spywareinfo.com If u cant use XP normally, boot into safe mode. And unzip the hijackthis file, make a folder called HJT and do a scan, and post the log here.	Speedy Gonzales (78)
