365961 2005-06-22 00:02:00 I'm running a Dell Dimension 4100 with Windows ME and recently I've installed a new printer (the aforementioned Canon Pixma MP780). The printer itself works fine; but after installing it, I have no sound! I believe my sound card is a Creative SoundBlaster 16, but I'm not entirely sure. I tried reformatting my hard drive and reinstalling the drivers, but it didnt work. Any help would be greatly appreciated... :horrified Big_Jav (8398)
365962 2005-06-22 05:47:00 Does anything show up in the Device manager, like with an Exclamation Mark? Chilling_Silence (9)
365963 2005-06-22 17:14:00 Yes. The sound card has an exclamation mark over it.. what do I do? Big_Jav (8398)
365964 2005-06-22 20:50:00 Your best bet would be to re-install the drivers for the sound card.

Try using the Update Driver option. Right-Click on the device and select Update Driver from the list.

Windows should re-detect the hardware and install the approriate drivers.

Hope that helps.

cheers

Post back the error code which tells you why it cannot start :)

The thing acts like the soundcard isnt even installed. And sorry, I dont know if I've installed the motherboard drivers or not. I guess not. Is there anything else I can do?
