366855 2005-06-24 16:13:00 I have a Samsung DVD ROM Drive and a Samsung CD Writer in my Win 98 PC. I run AVG free edition and update regularly. My system has AMD Athlon 1800XP processor, 256MB RAM, NVIDIA 64MB Display card, Creative SOund Blaster Audio with two NICs. I run Zone Alarm also.

My problem is my DVD ROM drive spontaneously ejects and again closes while I am working. This is very nagging, you know. This happens not every time, but sometimes. Sometimes the opening and closing continues for minutes together.

Please help

Or try an online virus scan.

Could it be someone on your network playing tricks on you.

366857 2005-06-25 09:31:00 My Samsung DVD ROM drive is driving me crazy. Its tray is continuously opening and closing on its on. I have checked for viruses, but no result. I have win 98 SE as OS. Please help

[Edit: I have merged your duplicate post back into your original one. There is no need to make a new thread on the same problem as this makes it difficult for people to assist you and you get duplicated advice - Jen (Moderator) ]

366860 2005-06-25 10:24:00 i would be inclinded to check motherboard drivers (exspecially IDE drivers) and by memory sometimes an antivirus prog can cause it. tweak'e (69)
