All you need is USB enabled there, which it must be already. Possibly your PC might be using 1.1 rather than 2. What DVDs did it have trouble with? Shop bought ones or made ones? And what was on them - movies? Music? Data? |

| 366670 | 2005-06-24 09:42:00 | Speedy ..... Its in a USB port. What do you mean **Is it in a USB 2 port?? ** Dear God hahahahah. OK No problems. Ive done a system restore. Taken it back to the last safe time, we are planning on reloading it tomorrow. What do you suggest? |

| 366671 | 2005-06-24 09:52:00 | Well there's 1 . 1 USB and USB 2 . Has your system got USB 2 ports on it? Since the dvd burner is USB 2? USB 1 . 1 ports would still work, but it'll be a lot slower than what the burner would be able to burn at . |

As I said, it might be 1.1. In XP USB2 t shows in device manager as Enhanced USB. And I asked which DVDs weren't working at all to see if maybe its a bad disk which if they are commercial ones would most likely not be the case. |

| 366673 | 2005-06-25 00:48:00 | It seems as if the PC ( which we were fitting the drive to) is 1 . 1 . It only shows as a USB . Though on the lappy it shows as 2 . 2 . In regard to which DVDs were working . They were commercial ones, and one did work and one didnt . Methinks if we load the drive onto the lappy we will have better luck . |

| 366674 | 2005-06-25 01:26:00 | If u only have USB 1.1, I would get a USB 2 PCI card. And if u have XP it needs SP1 or SP2. |

| 366675 | 2005-06-25 01:29:00 | OK .. well Im gonna stick it on the lappy .. which appears to be compatible. But I will have to get a new USB 2.2 card for the PC .. I can see that! |
