366663 2005-06-24 05:52:00 hi all,
hoping someone can help me.
have just burned a data dvd with nero6 ultrawhich went fine.
then burned a program to cd. when the burn was finished i got eror msg that said that verification failed. yet when i checked the cd the program was there. my questions r... do i need worry that the verification failed? should i burn the program again? will the program work should i ever need to reload it if verification failed? what IS verification?....tho my brain does tell me that nero checks that everything is in order? but! if it isnt it in order then nero should tell me what the problem is :) i cant find anything about this in help or at the nero site
Thanx in advance

366664 2005-06-24 06:06:00 If verification failed, that likely means that there is some corruption in the file content and it is no longer the same as the one that it was copied from.

So yes, you should worry.
There is now no surety that what is burnt to CD is correct, and thats what Nero is telling you. When this happens here, Nero does tell me which file though.

If it's a ".exe", try running it from the CD. It might work. :) Does XP has an equivalent to the DOS FC file comparison utility? If it's not an exact bit-for-bit copy of the one on the hard disk, try again. If it's a compressed (.ZIP, etc) version, use the decompressing programme and see if it finds errors.
