366657 2005-06-24 05:08:00 My computer runs on Windows 98se and has Outlook Express and Outlook 2000 installed . Outlook 2000 is my preferred email program .

Recently I had a new hard drive fitted (C drive) . The old C drive is now the D drive and still holds my old files, which are also backed up on a portable hard drive
.
Since the upgrade I have been unable to access the most recent email address book . Instead an older, out of date “wab” file is opened by both Outlook and Outlook Express .

I have been able to access email addresses by importing an Excel csv file that I had previously created as a backup .

The problem is that I cannot find any of my email groups!
I have found a “Pab . sam” file, but I cannot open it .

I have run “Windows” and Office 2000” updates, to no avail .

What file extension should I be using for the Outlook address book?

Where can I find the existing email groups?

366658 2005-06-24 05:20:00 They should be around this area C:\Documents and Settings\%user%\Local Settings\Application data\Microsoft\Outlook\
Ypu may need to show hidden files and folders.

She won't see that path on Win98!! Its an XP path.

*.pab files are Microsoft Outlook address book files. Search for those...

You need to do a search for outlook.pst on d drive (formerly c drive)
then import that from outlook.

Didn't look at the name.
*.pab files are Microsoft Outlook address book files.
*.pst files are Microsoft Outlook mail files.
*.rwz files are the Microsoft Outlook rules wizard files.

366662 2005-06-24 23:41:00 Thank you all. Problem solved.
I had previously imported outlook pst files without retrieving the address book and groups.

I think the key move was to import the file into "Outlook Today - personal folder"!
