Couldn't view that site, its down. Get the latest drivers from Nvidias website. Use them instead.
And yes, disable onboard graphics. Go into the BIOS (press DEL on boot), and disable it.

366728 2005-06-24 08:04:00 300w power supply
what brand? comman elcheapo 300w are more like 200w psu's and tend to die under decent loads.

366729 2005-06-24 08:29:00 Have you plugged the additional power feed into the card?

If its dieing as soon as you launch a game then it will most probally be a power issue (as already advised) the 6600gt is under-clocked when running normal desktop applications, and fires up at full speed when instruted to run a game, if the extra juice isn't availble then the ****e will hit the fan.

300w is well below the recomended PSU (though I ran mine off a $5 300w unit just for kicks with no issue)

NVidia site does not have the latest drivers there. They have the latest "safe" drivers. I could only see 71.xx there and BF2 requires 77.xx to play best and came with that. You will also find that Betanews always has links to the lastest drivers as well.

366732 2005-06-25 13:10:00 just a correction needed here......

nvidia site has the latest offical drivers. others sites can have more recent leaked drivers aka BETA drivers. use at your own risk. just to make things confuseing there is also the modded drivers which are released by different companies such as DELL etc.
tweak'e (69)
366733 2005-06-25 21:32:00 Yes tweak'e is right. The latest Nvidia drivers come from them and no one else. Other sites have modified drivers or beta drivers and rename them. If you are after these sort of unofficial drivers go to www.guru3d.com
