367390 2005-06-27 10:46:00 Surely you can get a known brand PSU ie Enermax for around the same price? Waste of time buying unknown brand PSUs, you don't know what they're like. E|im (87)
367391 2005-06-27 10:49:00 But I do know acbel jamesyboi (6579)
367392 2005-06-27 11:36:00 well if you know acbell why are you bothering to ask? tweak'e (69)
367393 2005-06-27 11:41:00 But I do know acbel

are they a good brand acbel? and what are the amps like on the different voltages?, people seem to favour enermax or antec psu's. Although i don't know why.

Track record of build quality and reliability, that's why.

Generic/random name PSUs can put whatever amp ratings they want on them till the cows come home. Doesn't make them good or reliable.

Not saying that this AcBel is a bad PSU, but I haven't heard of it before. Hunt around for some reviews if you want. I still think it's better to go with a brand that has a good history of reliability.

Just looking at the pdf (www.acbel.com.tw) the regulation is in the 5% spec, but it's pretty bad. If your 12v line is dropping down to 11.40v it's not very good.
