367256 2005-06-26 22:40:00 I have a work Portege which has no integral CD . It may be light but it is a pain for a number of programmes which require CD's to operate .

eg Encarta 2000 which I use . Is there a way of copying the CD to the hard drive and using it without a CD?

Many thanks .

Yep. But first you need to install the program off the CD, then run Daemon Tools to run the prog.

So. What you need is an external CD drive.

Or network it to another PC with a CD drive and load it from there. Since it is your company's computer it should be able to connect to their network.
