| 367061 | 2005-06-25 19:45:00 | Hi, I am hoping you can help me with this problem. Having removed a Trojan Virus form my PC a month ago, I noticed this pop up message appearing "C:\$MFT corrupt and unreadable message, run checkdisk utility". I went on a few website and forums to try and see if other experienced similar problems. I have run the checdisk utility, but the message just keep appearing. So far I have not noticed any problems with performance, but it is preventing me from installing a windows update which holds the Window XP malicious removal tool. I have tried running mulitiple free softwares from last month Pc Pro DVD issue to remove this message, but it just won't go away. Upon booting up my PC, it shows a light blue screen running disk check and says thast the volume is dirty. Hope you can help me to resolve this problem. I have Windows XP with SP2. I have Norton Security 2005 as my Anti Virus software. Many Thanks Sol |

As your system is still bootable, take this time to make sure you have backed up all your important data while you can. Maybe someone else has further suggestions? |
