2005-06-27 10:46:00 | Surely you can get a known brand PSU ie Enermax for around the same price? Waste of time buying unknown brand PSUs, you don't know what they're like. | E|im (87) | |
2005-06-27 10:49:00 | But I do know acbel | jamesyboi (6579) | |

2005-06-27 11:41:00 | But I do know acbel are they a good brand acbel? and what are the amps like on the different voltages?, people seem to favour enermax or antec psu's. Although i don't know why.

2005-06-27 12:02:00 | people seem to favour enermax or antec psu's. Although i don't know why. Track record of build quality and reliability, that's why. Generic/random name PSUs can put whatever amp ratings they want on them till the cows come home. Doesn't make them good or reliable. sal.neoburn.net Not saying that this AcBel is a bad PSU, but I haven't heard of it before. Hunt around for some reviews if you want. I still think it's better to go with a brand that has a good history of reliability. Just looking at the pdf (www.acbel.com.tw) the regulation is in the 5% spec, but it's pretty bad. If your 12v line is dropping down to 11.40v it's not very good.

If your 12v line is dropping down to 11.40v it's not very good. What do you mean, 5% spec?, are you saying i shouldn't buy it? :yuck: |
