367251 2005-06-26 22:59:00 I installed a new ASUS P4S800-MX motherboard. Security wiped (zero fill) the hard drive. Installed Windows XP Home and the customers programs. No data.
Ran Seagates hard drive diagnostics and got Critical File Structure errors!

Why am I getting the Critical File Structure errors if neither Microscope nor Post probe found any problems?

How did you install the customers programs? Did it boot into Windows OK at first?
And by no data what do you mean?
Probably the thing you used to zero fill the drive has stuffed up the structure somehow.

I put the CD in the drive per normal & followed the installation process, no kinks.
Did it boot into Windows OK at first? yes
And by no data what do you mean? the customer had data that I backed up to another driver. I have not restored that data.

367254 2005-06-27 05:20:00 Is it a Seagate drive? A Seagate diagnostic might be biased if the drive is from a different manufacturer. ;)

Does the Microsoft chkdsk complain about anything?

Yes it is a Seagate drive.

Haven't run it just yet.
I am trying a new/used drive.
