367086 2005-06-26 00:43:00 I've been experiencing strange behaviour with Firefox lately. I click on the icon in the quick launch bar, and I get an hourglass for a brief time, then nothing. If I look at Task Manager, it shows Firefox.exe as a process, but it is doing nothing. This happens with both vanilla Firefox and Moox, but not with Mozilla or IE.

It doesn't happen every time, and I have not been able to identify any pattern.

Any ideas?

367087 2005-06-26 01:10:00 Use a real browser like Internet Explorer ;) :D :p

Sorry, had to say that :)

Do you ever have the problem the first time you start Firefox after turning on (or restarting) your PC? If there is a process running, you may find that it is not exiting properly the previous time you exited. Kill the process in Task Manager and try again...

367088 2005-06-26 02:41:00 Well...We stopped using IE because of the problems eg...VIRUSES and the like.. We are using Firefox as our default browser and do far so good, had a few problems with Opera as well....so Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird it is! baybarb (8421)

If I kill the process, it still exhibits the same behaviour if I try to start it again. But later on, with no re-boot or anything, it will start OK. Tony (4941)
367090 2005-06-26 04:35:00 Just delete the program and re-install..it happens every so often, say about every 4 months or so to me too....and you don't lose anything either...FF has it all at home in storage for you!

Get SpoofStick while you're at it too..it helps to see where you are really going when you click on something...

367091 2005-06-26 05:16:00 I just checked bugzilla and the issue has been reported before - no resolution that I could find. I guess the answer is uninstall/reinstall. Tony (4941)
367092 2005-06-26 09:29:00 Surferjoe, a better one in my opinion is the Netcraft toolbar.. http://toolbar.netcraft.com/
