1373899 2014-05-01 04:43:00 Had a few people today call up complaining about their beloved XP, no longer supported by MS , being prompted from another angle -- NOW they are starting to get messages from CHROME. :crying

"Google Chrome- hardware not being supported"

Article about it HERE (www.pcadvisor.co.uk).

The support for Chrome/XP Ends in April 2015. How sad never mind -- :p

1373901 2014-05-01 05:20:00 Chrome is horrible anyway... Agent_24 (57)
1373902 2014-05-01 05:27:00 Is that even if they're running XP SP3?
Coz it says "SP2+" on the website of "recommended", so if they're unpatched or something then sure....

1373903 2014-05-01 05:35:00 I don't use it either, they tried so hard to make it clean and minimalist they've hidden most of the useful features. Sure when you are used to it it's no big deal but I prefer FF or even IE11 myself and since XP doesn't have IE9 onwards either looks like FF it is.

Time to move on or accept the limitations of the OS, it's had a pretty good run and there was plenty of warning. Still I understand people who have a perfectly functional machine not wanting to spend money on it because MS pulled the plug, they just have to take their chances.

It's amazing how well 7 & 8 run on a lot of older hardware though. My old Dell optiplex 755 with a dual core and 2GB of RAM ran 8 pretty well even before I upped it to 4 G and a faster hdd, now it feels as snappy as anything for general use - and it doesn't even have a proper graphics driver so it's stuck with a generic one. The processing power of modern CPU's far exceeds whats actually required for many users.

1373905 2014-05-05 09:46:00 Anyone who is still on XP is missing out on a lot of good OS feature sin 7.

So unless you really cant afford it you are being silly to yourself by hanging onto XP.

I can't really think of any that I use except Aero Snap.
