1374283 2014-05-08 03:38:00 Office 2003, and have never needed anything more flash than that. I use Word & Excel mainly, and most of my own documents are set up as templates so I wouldn't want to rework them.

I use Notepad to get rid of formatting in cut & paste jobs from documents sent to me with fancy formatting, or for content lifted off websites, and Metapad for more selective format removal.

Some Word documents I receive are so full of 'elegant' formatting that they can't be edited as is, so stripping and reformatting is the simplest and fastest way forward.
ATEOTD, you literally cannot tell the difference between my edited version and the original except for content changes, so who really needs to get that deep into fancy formatting?

I send all my documents as PDFs anyway, so nobody can tell I'm a klutz at formatting Word, or Excel. :D

Cheers

Paste Special in Word can do that too.

1374285 2014-05-08 04:20:00 MS Office 2010 is like the oxygen we breathe.

I couldn't live without it :)
But too much of it can kill you? :D

When I need an Office document it would be open office, or whatever is available on the computer I am using, same goes for spreadsheet stuff or I'll use Google docs if I'm doing a collaborative effort. If I want something fancy doneup I'll use InDesign :) and If I just want some basic text copied off a website and saved for later use I'll use Sublime Text which I spend most of my work day using anyway.

1374287 2014-05-08 07:17:00 I use MS Office at work (just been 'upgraded' to v2010). Word, Excel, Access and Outlook. Jen (38)
1374288 2014-05-08 13:22:00 Everyone and everywhere I go where computers are used in a business, uses MS Office. I've had enough problems with docs over the years to stick to MS Office.

Personally I enjoy trying out Open Office and others and just this evening set up Google Drive. But that is not work related.

Very few people - even youth - seem to know about open source software. They just don't care.

1374289 2014-05-09 04:45:00 We use pivot tables in Excel connected to data cubes on our SQL, we also use web components with IE for basic reports from same cubes. Sharepoint with Word and document management with Outlook.
We also generate Excel spreadsheet for accounts out of our Professional account software and Lync Enterprise for telephony, and Groove for file sync around the world.
There is no way soon we will ever be using alternative productivity suites....

Oh, I just got a new position as a Network Engineer....!

1374290 2014-05-11 10:10:00 I use Office 2013 at home. Used to use Office 2010. Got both very cheaply through my employers Home Usage program, something like $10 only for the full versions, if I recall.
Despite the fact I much preferred Office 2010 over Office 2013, I still use them quite often. It's mainly because I use Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint at work, so I don't have to learn anything else when I use those same apps at home. ALso means I can email work docs home to work on, rather than having to bring my work laptop home.
Office is fine for me, I really see no need to try something else. If I had to pay full price though my answer would be different!
