It amazes me how some of these dropkicks manage to get through an entire lifetime and achieve or produce absolutely nothing and it’s well past time for someone to kick some serious ar*e down Christchurch.

1373820 2014-05-02 04:51:00 It is the CH CH CC who are supposed to come up with a plan of action to present to the government. The Govenment then can agree or not and act accordingly. With an election coming up they are likely to go along with whatever the CC wants. Your simple fix is far to easy and sensible to be adopted without several prior committee meetings to discuss the pros and cons at great length.

Silly me, I thought it was the government that was buying up land in central christchurch for the numerous projects they have laid out plans for:

ccdu.govt.nz

Te Papa Ōtākaro/Avon River Precinct
The Frame
The Convention Centre
The Metro Sports Facility.
Rugby Stadium

Quite a bit will no doubt be given to Ngai Tahu as 50% owned for further treaty payments.

If the previous council had left Dave Henderson's to languish there would have been a big savings $ wise, along with the rugby world cup $30m and the additional millions for the crusaders field in Addington, let alone the cricket world cup $15m next year.

Great picture in this morning's The Press Page A3, this repair could have gone towards building the new CBD out west.
