2014-11-18 20:01:00 | Mine did that the other day as well on 9879, but came right after a bit of usage. Its low powered, only has 3GB Memory. First obvious change was the some of folders have changed -- other items, to many posts to link, do a google search for "build 9879" theres plenty to read :) Still only one log on :p

2014-11-18 21:05:00 | Just done the update to build 9879. Boy on a laptop with 4Gig of RAM it sure is slow Is now taking 3~ 4 minutes to run up outlook 2013 compared to about 20 seconds on the last two builds. Guess there will be another build soon.. Will try it tonite when I get home on my desktop with 8 gig of ram. Still two login pictures. I have the latest build as well. I haven't noticed a lot of difference in speed. Two login pictures for me as well, both on the VM with a MS account and the VM with a local account. One interesting thing - The VM with the local account doesn't want to give me the latest build - says there are none available. My feeling atm about Win10 is that it is probably an improvement on Win 8/8.1, but I don't see any compelling reason why I would want to change from Win7.

2014-11-18 21:07:00 | I just set up a new PC with it and no internet connection so used a local account. When I was mucking around switching to a online login I see there were two user accounts with the same name only one of which was an administrator, maybe that's what you're seeing and if so it seems like you can delete one of them (I did). I was not seeing both on logon though, just saw them listed in user accounts when I went there. On a slow AMD dual core APU (A4 4000 I think) with 4G of RAM I'm quite impressed with how well it runs. Hoping there will be a cheap option for buying it when the preview period ends. I built this thing to be a NAS but decided to run windows on it instead for media playback etc and just share the media drives and I'm getting to like windows 10.

2014-11-18 22:40:00 | My two Win10 installations on two VMs both show duplicate login pictures. Note duplicate. If there was some sort of phantom login lurking somewhere I would expect it to have the default login avatar. I can't really comment on speed because of the Vm. I do also have another installation on another physical PC, but that is really old hardware, so speed is not really relevant there either.

2014-11-19 03:10:00 | I found the problem as to why Outlook took so long to load. It was trying to load Lync which we don't use. Never worried it in the last builds. There is a new update KB3016725 which has a few bug fixes but hasn't sorted the speed problems out. Can't say I'm impressed with OneDrive compared to Google drive. Onedrive kept failing to sync on some older files created in Word 2003 and earlier.. Sometime saving them as a .docx file fixed it sometimes I had to delete the file. | paulw (1826) | |
