1374137 2014-05-06 23:30:00 What is the weekend service like on all Auckland suburban lines?, one of my hopes is to have a free weekend up there and simply ride all the lines. I lived in AK in the early-mid 80's and never rode a suburban train but have caught the Wn-Ak train three or four times now so at least the main-trunk section is familiar. Is the weekend service quite regular, particularly the line out West appeals?

Cheers

Weekend Western Line service now run half-hourly, as do Eastern (NIMT :)) and Southern services to Papakura. Onehunga and Manukau services are hourly.

CheersSee timetables here (www.maxx.co.nz) (trains are bottom left). Be aware that there are occasional weekend shutdowns for development work. Check with the website before you commit.

1374140 2014-05-07 06:59:00 Why would an electric multiple unit require that? :p
They are Spanish EMUs, so a Bull Fighter has to wave his Red Sheet at the train.
This frees up the Council Officers usually doing that (Bull Sheeters) to locate areas with good access and force the building of intensive housing until road traffic is choked uniformly across the region. This makes the trains look less bad. ;)

1374141 2014-05-09 04:20:00 Have you seen the ad that they have been playing on television? If you have not, have a look at at.govt.nz and notice, right at the very end, they have an EMU heading north on the southward line. How many of you spotted that, eh? Roscoe (6288)

I'm sure bike seats will go down well during the rush hour..

1374145 2014-05-09 07:30:00 These trains are from the northern hemisphere, so a bit of N - S confusion is to be expected. R2x1 (4628)
