One of those things I always meant to find out but never did, then along comes an app and that night I learnt how to locate it. Also for some reason I thought it would be upright as seen on our flag, I assume it looks like that from somewhere?

I thought it was standard stuff that every school kid was shown... guess not..

I used to use it a lot when I was out one weekend sailing excursions and wanted to know where North was.

1374229 2014-05-06 22:54:00 Google informs me it rotates around the southern point in the sky so I guess I've always looked at a time when it's laying sideways.
If I'm understanding it correctly it should be vertical around 11:30pm tonight

I normally look up and look for the 2 pointers first, then to the Southern Cross. Other than that, I kinda just know where to look now ;)
