| 1386919 | 2014-10-27 08:19:00 | Since the latest build (9860) My login screen shows my account picture twice, side by side. Is this happening to anyone else? BTW this post is being made through IE on Win10. So it works at least some of the time. :) |

Narrrr its exactly the same as Windows 8 -8.1, you can set it up so theres no sign in. The two W10's I have here don't require signing in unless I want to go into the Store to download something, then I simply switch back to the local account that doesn't need signing in. When you select either log-in does it automatically make it the Microsoft account ? One may be the Microsoft account the other may be a local account ? |

| 1386923 | 2014-10-28 08:24:00 | Right, I have two accounts - the MS one and a local account. I've set it so it bypasses the login. It always logs me on with the MS account rather than letting me choose. I was looking earlier to see how to change that, and haven't found how yet. It also has always logged me on to the desktop, and I can't find how to change that either. I know in Win 8.1 you can choose. Isn't one of the things about Win10 that it senses the device it is on and sets itself up accordingly? I'm using it on a desktop PC so it is logging me into the desktop? All the various commentators I have seen only show the desktop in the screenshots. |

I read that with Windows 10 if you have a touch screen, Windows 10 will automatically adjust itself depending on the type of device, offering a touch environment similar to the Start screen in Windows 8 for tablets and the standard desktop when a keyboard and mouse are present. As for the sign in on boot, one way to select how you want to do it is make sure its NOT connected to the internet when installing, at the time you enter your details to sign in , click Customize instead, then next next till you get to entering in your Name, it will then boot directly to the desktop. There is another way as well, but its more work, easier to leave it disconnected from the internet :) When doing this, if you want to get anything from the Store you need to sign in to the MS account, to sign back out open PC Settings / Account - Disconnect Microsoft Account ( similar wording) mines on W8.1 at the moment so cant get exact wording. |

| 1386926 | 2014-10-28 19:49:00 | Is this an automatic update or do I have to download a new ISO and if so can it be installed over top of the old one or a complete new install?? | paulw (1826) | ||
| 1386927 | 2014-10-28 20:11:00 | It will come and install automatically, or if you can't wait go to PC settings/update and recovery/preview builds and ask for it there. | Tony (4941) | ||
