1373777 2014-04-29 18:35:00 I enjoy using Google Maps for its satellite view quite a lot - mostly for navigation; but also for plain viewing of Earth when I have a bored moment.

So I often wonder what date the images were taken - is there any way of finding out?

1373778 2014-04-29 19:46:00 They are pretty old, there's vehicle parked on my lawn I haven't owned for years. Also google earth although it seems to share the same images was not updated a while back when google maps was so it's even older.
No Idea if you can find out the actual date though.

1373779 2014-04-29 20:35:00 There is an 'Imagery Date' showing at the bottom of the screen.
Not sure how accurate that is though...

1373780 2014-04-29 20:37:00 Occasionally when you are zoomed right in, the image has watermark of the dates - it just depends on the provider of the aerial photographs I believe. R2x1 (4628)

1373782 2014-04-29 22:35:00 That's a lot of flowers in Christchurch then Cic. Are you still down that way, or have you seen the light and moved North? Richard (739)

1373785 2014-04-30 04:12:00 You need a live satellite feed to spy on the g/f, google maps won't cut it. dugimodo (138)
