1477324 2021-05-22 03:04:00 I have a HP desktop i7-6700 with 16GB of RAM running Win10 version 20H2 and it has been going very nicely thank you until about a week ago.
Now, anything network related is a DOG.
Although the Ookla speed app says 105/20, downloading anything from a site is almost impossible and even my NAS is terrible.
The really embarrassing thing is that my wife's old machine even outperforms mine when it comes to anything network related but locally mine is far superior.
Using Novabench, she has a rating of 677 and mine is 1742.

Any hints on where to look for problems will be very much appreciated.

Plug in cable and see what happens.

1477327 2021-05-22 04:29:00 All ethernet - and I have tried an extra long cable direct to my server cabinet bypassing the switch and cabling in my mancave. Still the same. decibel (11645)
1477328 2021-05-22 04:34:00 Have you re-started the computer? zqwerty (97)
1477329 2021-05-22 04:59:00 Check if there is a driver update for your network adapter?
You should also try to run "ipconfig /flushdns" from a command line and then restart the computer.

1477330 2021-05-22 05:33:00 Thank you all - I did all that you suggested, plus rebooted the HONT, the ISP's router, and both switches.
Made my usual mistake of doing it all at once rather than one at a time.
Result - we are cooking with GAS !!

I suspect my D-Link DGS-1210-24 managed switch. - I had re-checked the config and saved it before reboot but as I did it together with all the other stuff, I can't be sure. (my wife's PC is on a different port)

Anyway, good result - thank you.
