| 1476905 | 2021-05-01 11:35:00 | I have used the following in CMD "chkdsk E: /f /x" but it keeps doing the chkdsk checking my E: . My E: is my data drive, my C: is the boot SSD . Help is appreciated . Prior to this my Adobe Lighroom had some issues . Cheers . |

| 1476906 | 2021-05-01 21:55:00 | At the moment, I just formatted the drive and using SyncBack to resync my data files across to it. Before, at the start. The issue was it was working but I couldn't add photos to Adobe Lightroom, after added the files were black and corrupted. I thought it was Lightroom so I uninstalled it and try to reinstall it but I wasn't able to extract the software setup file onto the E: desktop. I was able to extract it to my C: SSD. The constant start up automatic repairs was maybe I forced shut down the computer cos it was taking so long. I have backup drive which I plugged in. Lightroom was reinstalled provided the setup file was on the C: SSD which made adding photos OK but each time I restarted the computer and it did a automatic repair that would corrupt the newly added files. HD Senitel didn't bring up any errors. Hard drive and right click check disk also locked it up. System properties at the performance tab shows the HD at 100% activity at something like 3,000ms response time. |

You should never stop those tests /repairs, they generally take a while if theres a problem and Windows is trying to fix it. I'd be highly suspect of E drive, especially if its corrupting new files as well. Just something to Try -- Download and run Crystal Disk Info portableapps.com Run it, if any drive shows Yellow ( or Red) its starting or is failing, ( it will tell you in the drive description what's caused it to be yellow /red ) normally with bad sectors which at 1st read sounds like what's happening. A good Drive(s) will show Blue as per the 4 drives in this PC. 10887 |

I have C: SSD E: is the affected 1TB Blue Western Digital . D and F: are 500GB Seagate Barrucudas which is inside the PC which I automate a daily sync since I don't use the externals that regularly . 10888 |

Ive seen plenty of FAULTY HD's that pass HD all tests "Hard drive and right click check disk also locked it up . System properties at the performance tab shows the HD at 100%" that says it all really . Id bet the HD is failing . that would explain those chkdsk's on startup . Save yourself alot of future grief, just replace that HD now . HD's are dirt cheap . |
