1480804 2021-10-05 01:22:00 Whats been done about the lack of ICU beds , respirators AND nurses to manage them.....
Nothing.

No wonder the Govt keeps us in lockdown . Its easier than fixing our hospitals .
The Chinese built new hospitals in 2 weeks when they saw that covid might get out of control . It would take NZ 2 years just for the planning & consents .

And only one of them collapsed partially, as I recall. But where are we going to get these new nurses from? As much as I would love a couple of nurses from various fantasies, not sure they'd be too good at helping nurse covid

1480806 2021-10-05 03:54:00 The cops went out of their way to stop an Auckland based UFC fighter from training for an upcoming match.
They hounded him out of the country .

They also stopped a few people gathering in a home driveway .

2 laws , depending on who you are .
Only enforce rules when its really easy it seems .Have you considered other reasons for the police not making a fuss during the event? Get a group of righteous people all wound-up and try to control them = pack mentality and riots/aggressive behaviour. Makes it unsafe for everyone. Best to tackle the offenders away from a potential inflammatory situation.

1480808 2021-10-05 04:55:00 Ken beat me to this, I think:

"Update: Court summons issued following gathering at Auckland Domain"

Please attribute to Superintendent Shanan Gray, Acting Auckland City District Commander:

A 63-year-old man was today summonsed to appear in Auckland District Court next Tuesday in relation to organising the mass gathering event at the Auckland Domain over the weekend.

The man will be appearing on charges which relate to Breaching the Covid19 Public Health Response Act 2020 and Alert Level 3 Order.

The gathering of around 1000 people on Saturday was in breach of Alert Level 3 restrictions, which limit gatherings to weddings, funerals and tangihanga with no more than 10 people

The investigation phase is continuing as Police consider further charges or enforcement action against others involved in the event.

Police acknowledge that the taking place of this event was frustrating for our communities and we want to assure people that the Police response on the day was planned and based on operational assessments as is usual for an event of that size.

Police decision making when it comes to these types of events will always be about community safety first and foremost.

Just as well these days we don't feed Christians to the lions.

And if you have pink hair and are a friend of the media you can tell everyone else what to do and ignore the rules and your own advice whenever it suits you.
