1480400 2021-09-11 10:12:00 I agree -more grievance excuses. Where was the love and support from her ethnic community at the start? Clearly not there otherwise why did she end up with a couple that wanted her. I guess (but don't know) that her foster parents were chosen on basis of perceived suitability to provide a caring environment -not because of any ethnic consideration. Neil F (14248)

Legal aid is a loan and has to be paid back.

Most likely the iwi will help shell out for it, and if the Ministry decides in their interest to take to court, they'll join too.

To be paid back at $10 at time from her benefit unless that unless that would creat hardship when it will be written off.

.

No it isn't. But you have to be poor, and not own something, like a house to get it.

Legal aid is considered a loan. You may have to repay some or all of your legal aid, depending on how much you earn, what property you own and whether you receive any money or property as a result of your case.

The information you give on your application form is used to work out whether you have to repay anything. You will be told the maximum amount you have to repay in the first letter you get from us after we assess your application.

The letter from your grants officer will tell you if you need to start repayments now, and how to pay.

Just because they have the discretion to forgive or delay some or all of it in times of financial hardship doesn't make it not a loan and they're quite specific for the cases where you can or can't have it written off.
