| 1477262 | 2021-05-18 01:34:00 | I have been using Comodo Internet Security since my XP days, & thinking time for a change. I also have the paid version of Malwarebytes.Any ideas what a good Freeware version of Internet Security would be? Thanks |

Many will clash with one another causing slowness and by doing so you actually lower the protection not increase it. STAY WELL AWAY from AVG, Avast -- They are nothing more than malware themselves now. ONLY free AV I would trust is the inbuilt W10. Its better than previous versions, and is 100% compatible. On Saying that there are way better options but of course require some $$ |

LOL, ---- sorry but theres lots of programs that collect data and track everything you do, Microsoft is the least of your concerns. Basically every program collects some data. ( See below) Thats just one of the reasons I mentioned DONT use Avast -- They have been caught and admitted that they collect and sell users data. If you want to use a good program then try Eset Internet Security, (not just the AV) it has a inbuilt firewall, when in interactive mode, will stop ANYTHING coming in or Out, you have to allow / Deny. You would be surprised just what programs you have "Phone Home" And how often. It can actually be pain having to allow / deny untill it learns. The default mode allows / certain applications/Actions on whitelists. Sure Esets not free (except its trial) BUT, If you want Free - you get what you pay for. |

Personally, I always advocate adding 3rd party end-point protection.... and I always recommend ESET Smart Security/Internet Security... top product, worth every penny, I have been using for well over 10 years no I think. Hasn't let me down and hasn't skipped a beat. |
