1489718 2022-12-14 03:43:00 I have an old PC running XP and before I dump it I have copied off some files I would like to keep, but one file I would really like to copy but cannot find, is the picture of SWMBO which was taken quite a few years back.

Will someone please tell me how I can access that picture so I can save it.

Thank you for your help.:thanks

I tend to select This PC or perhaps each individual drive if you have more than one. Go into File Explorer -Search and enter e.g. *.jpg or *.pdf etc
Unless you have accidentally previously deleted it hopefully you will have success

1489721 2022-12-14 06:07:00 No, look for a .bmp in the "C/Windows" folder, that is how XP used to add a picture to the desktop when told to do so, as I remember.

.jpg is not a good format for the desktop, it needs a bit-map picture as I remember.

Note: some folders will be hidden
