| 1489158 | 2022-10-31 05:34:00 | Should I implement it? It is a cunning plan. ;) Halloween tonight. Really a load of old cobblers made popular by manufacturers to get more money out of us. We have never participated but this year SWMBO has gone a bit soft in the head and has bought a bag of wrapped choccy bars to give to the local kids. I am thinking of sticking a No Halloween sign on the letterbox figuring that what the ankle biters don't get, I will. Does this sound a good idea?? Ken :):):) |

Ken :):):) We have a sign that we put by the front door saying no trick or treaters (bought from the Warehouse a few years back) but we live down a long driveway which seems to deter most children . I, too, think it is a load of rubbish . It never has been a NZ thing . It is an old Celtic tradition that the Yanks imported and made into a big thing . I can never understand the desire of many people in this country to copy the Yanks . We have our own traditions . | 1489165 | 2022-11-01 00:47:00 | My street typically gets swamped with carloads of people from other neighbourhoods. Sour old me closes the gates and padlocks them for the duration. Picked up 5 lolly wrappers today. Seems those bags for carrying the lollies aren't good enough to carry the wrappers as well. |
