South Africa a is still called South Africa (or Sud Afrika for Afrikaans0 India is still India -independence came in 1947. Canada has French and English not the original Indians languages.. Our passports already list Aotearoa beside New Zealand -that is enough. Naming the Central Health Board Te Whatu Ora is an absolute joke. If Govt wanted to avoid an English name they more appropriately could have chosen a Filipino or Indian word. -Maori are barely represented in hospital staffing numbers. Oranga Tamariki gets bad publicity but where are the whanau who could have stepped in so that Ornag Tmariki's intervention would not be needed. A lot of blame but little self responsibility. | Neil F (14248) | ||

| 1489112 | 2022-11-04 02:26:00 | "In 2017, the Whanganui River was made a person in the eyes of the law " So how far do we need to go with this nonsense . Its only alienating the moderate , compromising kiwi's . if someone drowns in that river, is it now murder & the river can be charged , just like very other person.? Is the river paying taxes ? Is the river paying rates for the land its occupying ? Is the river personally liable for any damage due to flooding , can we sue the river ? |

| 1489113 | 2022-11-04 02:40:00 | The next thing is what worries me. I never go near the W(h)anganui river but soon the dust beneath our feet will be granted personhood and the iwi will charge a levy for walking on it. It would take a better legal mind than mine to try suing the river but I would love to see it done. And that river has claimed so many lives it has to be considered a serial killer and should be jailed for life. But where...? |
