I don't like the restrictions and the privacy concerns. I've used a Jail-broken PS3, or my laptop as a media player on TV, but now have a dedicated HTPC which is even better, because it runs desktop Linux and I can do anything I like with it. Like install ad-blockers, play games and even use it for Zoom etc. |

Would you be OK with me installing a camera in your house so I can watch everything you do? And what sort of restrictions? I am not aware of any restrictions. I don't believe you can install adblock on a Chromecast. Nor can you do a lot of other things with it. A desktop PC is much more versatile. |

All that is missing is Sky Sport which is why I have kept the other Sky box. If it's just sport you can get the skysportnow app on apple tv. If however you want everything else, then you have to keep a sky subsription and use airplay to get it to the apple tv, but then, if you're paying for a subscription you'd have their decoder |

Better if you're running kodi or something like that, and have a remote for the computer. But logging in to sites is a pain, and using a mouse and keyboard is just annoying for entertainment. |

I use a mouse and keyboard on mine and find it the opposite, especially if I play any games. |
