Also remember Labour has a big contingent of Maori voters so have to stay onside, since Labour was once the workers party until the roger douglas/richard prebble (crap artists) takeover. |

Also a great way to waste a lot more money for no gain in the service that they are supposed to provide. All signage and stationary have to be updated which helps nobody except, of course, those employed in the printing and sign writing industry's. |

| 1489551 | 2022-12-07 23:52:00 | Oranga Tamariki is (and has been for a long time) the ambulance at the bottom of the cliff. Yes they have made mistakes (who hasn't?) but people are blaming them for others' responsibilities. What about the so-called Whanau? Surely intervention by them in the early stages would remove any need for Oranga Tamariki to be involved. |

| 1489556 | 2022-12-10 07:53:00 | Oranga Tamariki is (and has been for a long time) the ambulance at the bottom of the cliff. Yes they have made mistakes (who hasn't?) but people are blaming them for others' responsibilities. What about the so-called Whanau? It used to be that various Govt Depts would have contracts in place for eyecare / eyewear for their staff, so I got to see quite a few of them. The Oranga Tamariki staff (forget what the Dept used to be called) were consistently highly stressed, trying to do the impossible with insufficient resources. They reserve our respect, and our sympathy. They are stuck in the middle of a totally sh1+ situation, trying to protect the vulnerable, without the true means to do so, while being treated like the enemy by rotten, feral whanau who are the true enemies. The job rips the guts out of these workers. They're heroes in a war with no end. |
