| 1489514 | 2022-12-04 08:34:00 | Macrium Reflex will make an Image of a whole drive with Linux & Windows on it. In a dual boot situation you can image any partition, so you can back up Windows or Linux on their own. You can change the position of the partitions, so if your Linux OS is first you can swap it with Windows. Macrium will repair the Windows loader so it knows where it is. A Macrium image can be mounted in Windows so you can extract any file without restoring the whole image. Macrium runs in Widows, but you can make a bootable USB of it. You only need to have Windows if you want to mount the Image, or to create a live USB. If you don't have access to Windows you can use a Macrium.iso on a USB flash drive. Timeshift only handles Linux, is very bulky, and slow. Can't be bothered with it! |

Do that ALL the time, several times a week sometimes. Using ViBoot you can also mount a macrium Image and run it as a Virtual machine. VirtualBox will also run Macrium Images if the computer doesn't have Hyper-V. |
