| 1489400 | 2022-11-21 21:52:00 | Is the sound only down on the TV ? They all have manual controls, often almost hidden, try manually increasing to full and use the sky to adjust. OR simply buy a universal remote from a local shop, no dodgy sales then. Not now they don't - a number only have remote controls, nothing on the tv except push button to go off standby, or on standby again. Don't know about other brands, but this is definitely how the Veon's are now - bought a 40" from the warehouse recently |

| 1489401 | 2022-11-22 04:50:00 | I've had several buyers who emailed from an address not the same as their TradeMe account. None of them were dodgy. I've had one person who went on holiday and said if I was OK with waiting, to pay him in 3 weeks and he'd send the item when he got back. I didn't mind and everything was fine ... just 3 weeks slow. I've dealt with LOTS of traders who probably moved and forget to update their TM account details, OR seem to use an incorrect location for privacy/paranoia reasons. Sometimes people sell items on behalf of friends etc so the pickup location is different to that of the seller's account. In your case it may have been a scam, maybe not. But some people on TradeMe are just weird. Once I had a guy who instantly blacklisted me because I asked a question and offered a lower price than his buy-now. Was happy to pay the full price but thought I'd ask just in case, as I thought it was a little high. I had to get a friend of mine to buy the item for me instead. |

| 1489402 | 2022-11-22 08:08:00 | I've had a buyer deliberately make ridiculous bids to sabotage an auction then claim it was an accident only to do it again after I removed them. I forget exactly what started it, think he made a lowball offer I wasn't interested in. Blacklisted him and now make a point to set the flag for address verified buyers only. I was tempted to let trademe attempt to enforce the bids but didn't want to deal with the hassle. Never had a problem with any sellers, I do tend to check their ratings for any obvious red flags though. |

Not from here, so where was he going to be if the listing had run it's course? Nope. The more he talked, the more excuses he came up with. Better to be safe than sorry. My brother, being disabled how he is, is vulnerable and I'd rather not have him be a target. I'm too old to fight anyone off too. |

There will always be anotherTV / Remote come along that will do the job . |

| 1489406 | 2022-12-03 20:24:00 | A working 32 incher for $40!!?? Sound like a meth-head selling stolen property. A family member seems likely to have lost $310 in a Facebook market scam recently too. Scams and shitheads exist out there! I bought a 32 inch Panasonic 'Andriod' TV for my mum. It's totally foul to use. There's no numbers on the remote for the channels, just channel +/- and a dead slow response time to any input from the remote. Too bad if you want to go from TV1 to TV3+1 (12 steps). In theory it can link to a cellphone which might give better funtionality, but she won't be getting a phone (she turns 99 today and is pretty deep into Alzheimers now). |

| 1489407 | 2022-12-05 08:16:00 | A working 32 incher for $40!!?? Sound like a meth-head selling stolen property. Well... I got an old 32" LCD TV for nothing on Freecycle... No digital, only 1 HDMI, but works fine. Probably not worth selling. I can see how a slightly better set could be a few dollars. Remember these days you can get really cheap TVs from The Warehouse that are over 32". But those Veon etc just don't last though. My free one is a Panasonic. Still going. |

Still going. Yeah, I learnt some time ago to NEVER AGAIN buy electronic gear from The Warehouse... a DVD player where I had to grab the disc drawer to prevent it retracting before I'd loaded a disc, a fan heater where the rotating fins to direct air flow died on the second time it was turned on (which was less than 2 minutes total of operation as I was still checking out its functions). I've seen the very same model at my doctors... same dead fins. In their case they aren't aware the fins are closed and staying closed, so the unit overheats with obstructed airfolw, thermal safety cutout engages, and the room feels sod all benefit. Just a heater slowly cooking itself. Not fit for sale. |

| 1489409 | 2022-12-06 05:32:00 | A working 32 incher for $40!!?? ). Not sure you are aware of the value of them nowadays. No-one wants them. Everyone wants big TVs. And $40 was Hawkes Bay. Take a look at the Auckland listings and there are tons, many less than that. Good brands. Even the pawn shops have the smaller ones cheap. Anyway I have been offered another from someone trustworthy and have accepted. Thanks You Know Who. |
