1488982 2022-11-04 00:24:00 To me it seems that the paper jam may be fixed, I took the removable back off, and removed a full sheet (A4). I also found that a sheet of photo paper (150x100), from the input tray 1, had moved forward. I have removed that tray but still get the 000025 error, it doesn't say anything about a paper jam any longer. Brucem (8688)
1488983 2022-11-04 02:42:00 It may be a paper pickup issue. That used to be a common fault.
Worn rubber pickup roller or separator pad.

So , might be having issues picking up the paper, or more than one sheet picked up (partially).
Can happen more when the paper tray is near empty , or when paper is damp .

Try the manual feed tray, with a single sheet & a 1 page print.

Unfortunately , inkjet printers arnt worth the cost of repairs any longer.
It breaks/fails, you buy a new one .

1488984 2022-11-04 03:46:00 Thanks 1101, maybe that is the case, it was with the second printer that I had, an HP 5L, I had them replaced several times. I am not sure because twice during this process a single unprinted sheet ha appeared. Brucem (8688)
1488985 2022-11-04 04:58:00 000025 error

One site says:

Says paper jam checked it all out not a even a piece of dust. Opened the back find the Gray rubber wheel cleaned with q tip swab and alcohol works fine now

1488986 2022-11-04 05:44:00 One of Epsons Code sites:

000025

MEANING="CR PID speed fall error"

DESCRIPTION="- Main Board failure (Firmware failure)

- Cartridge overload due to paper jam"

Different model but the codes are generally the same.
The compare with the following site, scroll down to error code 000025, 000031 work through, --- Step6 relates to above quote from Epson

Yes. We had a paper jam now the hardware is ****ed and you must buy a new printer.
Common sadly.

Mine is due. It's had 2 rather dire paper jams and I am expecting Error BuyANewPrinter anytime now.

1488988 2022-11-05 03:55:00 I seem to have tried everything reasonably possible to cure the problem, and unfortunately it looks like a new one! I want to print A4, and smaller, photos, and scan/copy. Has anyone a recommendation for something reliable, and not too expensive to buy or to run?

I have had dot matrix (Star 24 pin tractor feed) and used a Panasonic dot matrix that was owned by a society that I was membershp secetary for, lasers, HP 5L, & Brother, Ink jets Cannon A3 and A4 and now Epson. The first was the Star in about 1992.

1488989 2022-11-05 03:59:00 Reliable and "not too expensive" don't exist in the same sentence, in the world of consumer electronics. Agent_24 (57)
1488990 2022-11-05 04:46:00 I realise that, maybe I should have said reasonably reliable and not excessively expensive. Brucem (8688)
1488991 2022-11-05 05:18:00 Own personal preference (Everyone has different opinions) I stick with the Brothers, Then HP's (for customers). Over the years I used basically all of them ( mainly lasers) wont touch inkjets for home.

The problem with HP is their software can sometimes be crap, and bloated, you have to ( no matter which brand) use the Custom installs, disable all the crap they put in, that no one ever uses.

What you have to also look at is the price of consumables. Some of the inks ( for inkjets) are more expensive than a new printer.
