1488933 2022-10-19 01:09:00 Bob Dylan is saying, amongst other things, that you don't need an expert to understand things that are happening around you and you have an uneasy feeling that in some way or another you may be getting taken advantage of, or duped.

In other words your instincts are worth listening to.

Well my instincts tell me we are being duped. :)

Help me out with this one.

How is Taxing the Farmer going to stop his animals Farting?

And while I’m at it, you people told us we must Save the Planet by stopping using paper and changing to plastic.

Now look, what happened there?

Personally, I see the Green’s as nothing more than yet another Crank Religion. :2cents:

1488934 2022-10-19 02:47:00 There is only one solution to the population problem, so in a way you are right, even after understanding the position we are in: the futility lies in the lack of solutions to an over-populated, finite sphere. We going to get to 8 billion population in middle November.

This problem was always waiting in our future, and now it is becoming an unavoidable, unpalatable present.

So as you seem to be saying, just ignore it and get on with enjoying your life as much as possible seems to be the wise temporary solution lol.

zqwerty, the totally irrelevant state of the worlds population has nothing to do with my questions.

I repeat:

How is Taxing the Farmer going to stop his animals Farting?

Can we please stick to the subject. :)

1488936 2022-10-19 05:33:00 The point of the girls protest, (not what is in my link to BM), is that we lavish so much care and put so much value into "works of art" why do we care so little about the earth and all its sub-systems that we are still spreading the products produced from oil all around the world without much thought as to the final results.

It's a good point.

1488937 2022-10-19 05:51:00 How is Taxing the Farmer going to stop his animals Farting? - The Government being forced into supposed action by awareness increasing of problems related to global warming.

Save the Planet by stopping using paper and changing to plastic - seemed like a good idea to avoid cutting down so many trees but oil is an even bigger problem so plastics not the answer.

All of these variations on a theme are because of population increase causing increased consumption causing more products based on oil causing global warming through increased human activity and the losses inherent thereof.

You seem to be caught up in details without seeing the overall picture and the common cause.

Can't see the wood/forest for the trees?

1488939 2022-10-19 10:01:00 Well in a way that is what is happening, if the farmers want to continue they'll have to reduce their animal numbers I think.

ie less farts/farm.

So what you are really trying to do is Tax the Farmer out of Business and Wreck the Economy.

Do I detect "Communism by Stealth"?

1488941 2022-10-19 18:29:00 There are far more humans than cows or sheep. Halve our worldly population! Also it's apparently belching, not farting, that is the supposed problem. Bryan (147)
1488942 2022-10-19 20:29:00 I personally wouldn't want to put farmers out of business but as is well-known the rivers are suffering badly from the excess of Dairy cows due to the large numbers being farmed these days. zqwerty (97)
