1489625 2022-12-11 00:06:00 an M2 Macbook Air, base model.

Need a new lappie and after 6 months watching YT videos, this seems to be a good option. And I've always wanted to experiment with Apple, but not pay iPhone prices.

Seems a significant learning curve, but it seems YT has every video I need to get this done.

Gonna need a dongle thingy ...

Way back in the dark days of Commodore I had a friend up on the latest of everything, we'd visit and shortly after get our new whatever, C64, Amiga, ........until he bought his new computer.
On the way home, husband said, I suppose you're going to buy an Apple now?

No I said, I'm buying a PC. LOL, he went Apple way back then. And I didn't. We stayed friends though.

1489628 2022-12-11 01:33:00 I've not "gone Apple" per se, just trying something different.

So far I've set it up and d/loading new OS. The screen is beautiful and the fonts so clear and easy to read.

1489629 2022-12-11 08:14:00 I used a macbook air for years for work, but in 2019 went back to the light. Couldn't fault the build quality etc but the price just didn't stack up. Then M1 was released soon after. We've got a couple of the M1 Minis at work and they're very capable for the price. We purchased them in lieu of mac airs as staff work remotely now anyway.

I still prefer windows but I do miss not having to battle driver issues and regular bad OS updates.

If you install Linux on it!

1489631 2022-12-13 02:51:00 I'm still trying to work out folders, and to be able to delete the folder off the desktop but keep it in Finder down the side.

Steep learning curve ..

Asahi Linux is still very much a work-in-progress but coming along quite well given the timeframe. The livestreams from marcan and asahilina are always interesting!

I'm not sure I understand why you want, I'm guessing, a shortcut, to a folder that doesn't exist?
