1489527 2022-12-03 22:51:00 I have a couple of USB sticks that I can plug into the TV and watch some videos. Works fine. I also have two 1TB HDDs which the TV does not recognise and I wonder why not. They work perfectly well plugged into the laptop, so I wondered what's the difference between the USB stick and the HDD?

I will be interested to hear why that is and if there is any way I can play the HDD on the TV.

Thanks for your help.:thanks

1489528 2022-12-04 00:00:00 File systems, usb stick out of the box are probably fat, fat32. Hard drives might be ntfs....or they might be too big. But I think the limit is generally 2tb.

Lastly, the tv might not have enough usb power for the hdd. Especially if sinning hdd, and not an ssd.

1489529 2022-12-04 17:32:00 Thank you Psycik. I had a look. The USB is ex fat and the HDD is NTFS, just as you say. So obviously the TV does not like NTFS.

That's solved that one. Much appreciated.

1489530 2022-12-04 18:23:00 My Sony Bravia is terrible for USB. It will take fat32 but is so slow with other formats. I now have my second PC attached via HDMI to the TV and have no problems using the TV as a monitor. Bryan (147)
