They don't want another lock-down, I mean look at the cruise ships fiasco. It's just business as usual, just a few old people dying as a result of the surge, no real problem. |

| 1489310 | 2022-11-18 02:48:00 | Old people die of something anyway. Personally I have no desire to have the country to ever go into another lockdown just to keep the likes of me alive for a few more years at the expense of stuffing the place up more than they have already. | CliveM (6007) | ||

SIL has had it, not especially ill at all and her in her 70s. 45 yr old friend was not impressed for 2 days of her illness, she got the worst ever in her life pains, muscles and joints. She has pain issues normally, she said she thought she knew all about agony but it was far worse for 2 days. She was ill for 6 days of covid all up. |

| 1489312 | 2022-11-18 09:02:00 | It's the long term effects that are turning out to be the biggest problem, the latest way doctors are viewing the malady is to see it as premature aging of various parts of the body which can be long term and vary from person to person in the area affected and the length of time problems persist. Brain fog for instance is complained about by many after having a mild attack but never really recovering back to normal. It's very big of you to be so selfless CliveM but I am sure many do not feel as you do. It's greedy national party businessmen putting up prices to discredit the Labour Government not Covid which has caused to biggest problems. |

You appear to have absolutely no experience or understanding in the running of a business. Never mind the politics, to stay in business you have to make a profit if you don't you will go out of business very quickly. If your costs increase you have to increase your charges or once again you will not survive very long. There is no way that you can just increase your charges beyond that of others in the same business or once again you will not last long. Only the government can just impose costs on a political whim without any personal consequences except, of course, for their chances in the next election. |

| 1489315 | 2022-11-19 03:11:00 | Don't forget the banks and their huge profits, they should handle our investments and not put them out and we finish up with losses, instead of massive profits, they generate. Thought business people had insurance to cover loss of this sort of thing!. lurking. |

| 1489316 | 2022-11-19 07:12:00 | Global cruise operator reintroduces Covid mandates on Australian ships after surge in cases: www.theguardian.com "Covid-19 cases have more than doubled in a fortnight in NSW, Queensland and Victoria despite lower testing numbers. NSW and Victoria recorded a combined 48,267 new infections on Friday, up from 22,676 two weeks ago. NSW and Queensland have moved to “amber” risk settings due to the continued spread of a new Covid wave. Masks have become mandated in NSW in hospitals and healthcare settings while in Queensland, masks are recommended in a range of public settings and among elderly and vulnerable people." Be the same here soon probably if not already from infections from the ship mentioned here that sailed and docked all around NZ. Profits matter not common sense. |
