1488898 2022-10-17 06:22:00 SWMBO's mew laptop is arriving this week and its win11 pro, do you definitely need a MS login or can you still have a normal account login?

I have not had anything to do with Win11 yet.

I have not had anything to do with Win11 yet. You don't have to have a MS login, never have on any of mine or customers unless they want it.

Some of the "tricks" MS are blocking.

One that I use and so far still works is to open a CMD when setting up at account time, Type in OOBE\BYPASSNRO {Press Enter} when it reboots you have options for local account

See various TRICK #4 here is what I use how-to-install-windows-11-without-microsoft-account.html (www.isunshare.com) NOTE a typo on the site its SHIFT + F10

also found this video youtu.be

The other way is to use a MS account, once running go into family settings, create a Local account ( make sure its set to admin) boot from that and wipe out the original MS Account. can give instructions if you need.

1488903 2022-10-21 09:03:00 Weren't you lucky No not luck - Home editions are restricted, where as Professional is not. wainuitech (129)
1488904 2022-10-21 18:33:00 First time I have ever used a pro version of any MS OS, so much nicer than the home versions gary67 (56)

I thought that when you ran it up for the first time if you disconnected from the internet you would get the option to use a local account and then reconnect again.

That's how it used to work on earlier versions , but MS appear to have blocked that option. wainuitech (129)
